Decree of His Imperial Majesty, Autocrat of All the Russias, from the Minsk Consistory to the Holy Epiphany Monastery in Pinsk.

The Minsk Ecclesiastical Consistory has taken notice of the decree of the Governing Synod No. 6 of last November 12th, transmitted by His Grace [the bishop] for circulation throughout the diocese, in which the Holy Synod, reporting on His Imperial Majesty’s Imperial decree to celebrate the birthday of His Imperial Highness Grand Duke Kirill Wladimirovich on the 30th of September and his name-day on the 11th of May, forwards an addendum drawn up in the Holy Synod to the list of days on which festive occasions are to be celebrated, to be circulated in sufficient numbers for distribution by the clergy to all churches and cathedrals and also monasteries of the Minsk diocese, with printed copies of the decrees attached.

Decree of His Imperial Majesty, Autocrat of All the Russias, from the Minsk Consistory to the Holy Epiphany Monastery in Pinsk.

By order of His Imperial Majesty, the Minsk Ecclesiastical Consistory has taken notice of the decree of the Governing Synod No. 8 of last November 27th to His Grace [the bishop] in which, having informed Him that the baptism of the August newborn Grand Duke Kirill Wladimirovich had taken place on the seventh day of that same November, instructed him, on receipt of this decree and after previous consultation with the civil authorities, a service of thanksgiving [moleben] for the Holy Baptism of the August newborn with prostrations and the tolling of church bells should be offered to the Lord God in all churches on the first Sunday or Feast Day after the celebration of the Divine Liturgy. His Grace issued the following resolution: “The Divine Liturgy and, thereafter, the office of thanksgiving, will be celebrated by Me in the Cathedral on the 19th day of this month, and offices of thanksgiving should be celebrated in all churches in the city of Minsk at the same time. The Consistory should accordingly make all the necessary arrangements and inform the Governor on My behalf about the services in the cathedral.”

Resolved: Orders for the implementation of this resolution are to be sent to the clergy of the churches and monasteries of the diocese of Minsk. 23 December 1876.
