The Head of the House of Romanoff pays a visit to Anastasia Shirinskaia in Bizert, Tunisia
During her visit to Tunis, Tunisia, the Head of the Russian Imperial House, H.I.H. Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna, went to Bizert, where she paid a visit to Anastasia Shirinskaia, who is respected in Russia and throughout the world as the caretaker of the local Orthodox church and Navy cemetery. Her Imperial Highness expressed the genuine and heartfelt gratitude of the House of Romanoff to Anastasia Shirinskaia for her many years of service, and Anastasiia Shirinskaia in turn thanked the Grand Duchess for bestowing on her the Order of St. Catherine (second class). The devices of the Order were awarded to Anastasia Shirinskaia last year, on the occasion of her 95-th birthday.
In addition, the Head of the House of Romanoff visited the Orthodox church and the Navy cemetery in Bizert, where she prayed for the repose of the souls of Russian sailors and for the souls of all her countrymen who died in exile.
