2015-10-14 Grand Duke George of Russia gives a presentation in Luxembourg on the Imperial Foundation for Cancer Research
On October 14, 2015, the Feast Day of the Intercession of the Most Pure Mother of God, H.I.H. the Heir, Tsesarevich, and Grand Duke George of Russia gave a presentation at the Cercle Munster club in Luxembourg about the Russian Imperial Foundation for Cancer Research (RIFCR). (For information on the RIFCR, see its webpage here: http://www.imperialfoundation.com/.) Grand Duke George is the founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation.
Also taking part in the presentation were several research oncologists; members of the Board of Trustees; an official from the Russian embassy in Luxembourg, Iu. A. Sokolov; and the Grand Duke’s second cousin, Prince Friedrich-Wilhelm of Prussia.
His Imperial Highness gave a speech and presented a check for 10,000 € to the Director of the Luxembourg Center for Biomedical systems (Luxembourg Centre Systems Biomedicine, or LCSB), Professor Dr. Rudi Balling. These funds will go to support research programs of the LCSB into the role of intestinal microflora in the development of colorectal cancer.
