On the Pilgrimage of Tsesarevich George of Russia to Mount Athos

On April 22-26, 2015 (April 9-13 according to the Julian Calendar, which is used by the monks on the Holy Mountain), His Imperial Highness The Grand Duke George of Russia, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, went on pilgrimage to Mount Athos.
On April 9/22, His Imperial Highness arrived in Thessaloniki from Brussels. Throughout his stay in Greece and on Mount Athos, the Grand Duke was accompanied by members of the organizing committee for the pilgrimage: the Director of the Chancellery of H.I.H. The Grand Duchess Maria of Russia, Alexander Zakatov; the Chairman of the Office of Inter-regional and International Relations in H.I.H.’s Chancellery, Prince Vadim Lopukhin; the Director of the Imperial Foundation for Cancer Research, Archpriest Alexander Tkachenko; Fr. Mikhail Asmus; the Chair of the Office for Relations with Government and Public Organizations of H.I.H.’s Chancellery, Kirill Nemirovich-Danchenko; and A. V. Abrosimov.
On April 10/23, Tsesarevich George of Russia departed Thessaloniki for Ouranoupoli, where he boarded a boat for the Holy Mountain of Athos.
