Greetings from the Head of the Russian Imperial House, H.I.H. Grand Duchess Maria of Russia, to Those Taking Part in the Events Celebrating the Memory of the New Martyr Grand Duke Michael Alexandrovich, in the Town of Lokot, in the Brasov District of Briansk Province

I send my heartfelt greetings to all the participants in the religious services and solemn commemorations that are taking place on the day of the martyr’s death of my August first cousin twice removed, H.I.H. Grand Duke Michael Alexandrovich.

Last year, in 2012, during my visit to Ingushetia, I had the enormous pleasure to see how the memory of Grand Duke Michael Alexandrovich continues to be honored by the Ingush people, whose sons faithfully served Russia in the Caucasian Native Mounted Regiment, which was commanded by His Imperial Highness Grand Duke Michael Alexandrovich. The Grand Duke’s name unites our countrymen, regardless of their nationality, native culture, or individual traditions. In this connection, the creation of a religious and cultural Center on the Homeland of this royal warrior and martyr is of particular importance. I am very glad that, in this year when we celebrate the 400th anniversary of the ending of the Time of Troubles, the reestablishment of the Russian State, and the ascension to the throne of Our House, that this Center has achieved so many important and tangible results.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to the Head of the Briansk Metropolia, His Grace Bishop Alexander of Briansk and Sevsk, to the leaders of the local government, to the organization “For Faith and Fatherland,” and to all the social organizations that have participated through their prayers and moral support in the establishment and success of this Center.
