It is with deep sadness that the Chancellery of the Head of the Imperial House of Russia, H.I.H. The Grand Duchess Maria of Russia, announces the death, after an extended illness, of Captain First Rank Nikolai Georgievich Avraamov, on September 4, 2020. Captain Avraamov was the Director of the Museum on board the cruiser Aurora and a knight of the Imperial and Royal Order of St. Stanislaw.
Grand Duchess Maria of Russia and her son and heir, Grand Duke George of Russia, extend their deepest condolences to the family and friends of Captain Avraamov, whose work at the Museum Their Imperial Highnesses greatly appreciated and respected, and who warmly welcomed them during their visit to an exposition in the Museum on the Aurora in 2017.
