The ancient and recent history of humanity offers many compelling examples that, in revolutions and civil wars, none are absolutely guilty and none are absolutely innocent, but that these social catastrophes bring suffering to absolutely everyone.

All who wish for the happiness and prosperity of the people of Belarus, regardless of their different political convictions or attitudes toward a specific political situation, must overcome the spirit of hatred and understand that no evil thing can ever be defeated by another evil thing.

All sane and sensible political actors in Belarus—both in power and in the opposition—must do everything in their power to prevent the escalation of violence, preserve the lives and safety of their fellow citizens, and restore peace, guided always by faith in God, love for their native country, and a sense of responsibility to their children and future generations.
