The Head of the House of Romanoff and the Tsesarevich Attend the Wedding of Hereditary Prince Ferdinand of Leiningen and Princess Viktoria Luise of Prussia

September 16, 2017, Amorbach, Germany.  The Grand Duchess Maria of Russia and the Grand Duke George of Russia stand with Andreas, 8th Prince of Leiningen at Schloss Amorbach, at the time of the wedding of Hereditary Prince Ferdinand of Leiningen and Princess Viktoria Luise of Prussia.  

Attending the wedding in addition to members of the princely House of Leiningen were members of the German Imperial and Prussian Royal House, the Belgian Royal House, the Royal House of Hanover, and other royal and formerly ruling houses of Germany.  The newlyweds were warmly congratulated by the Head of the Russian Imperial House, H.I.H. the Grand Duchess Maria of Russia, and H.I.H. the Heir, Tsesarevich, and Grand Duke George of Russia.

The Hereditary Prince Ferdinand is the eldest son of the 8th Prince of Leiningen, Prince Andreas, and his wife, Princess Alexandra (née Princess of Hanover).  He is the great-grandson of Grand Duchess Maria Kirillovna of Russia, Princess of Leiningen.  Grand Duchess Maria Kirillovna was a sister of the late Grand Duke Wladimir, head of the Russian dynasty from 1938 to 1992.  Grand Duchess Maria Wladimirovna of Russia, the Head of the Imperial House of Russia, is Hereditary Prince Ferdinand’s aunt.

Princess Viktoria Luise is the daughter of the late Prince Friedrich-Wilhelm of Prussia and his second wife, Ehrengard von Reden.  She is the granddaughter of Grand Duchess Kira Kirillovna of Russia, the spouse of the late Prince Louis-Ferdinand of Prussia, head of the German imperial and Prussian royal dynasty from 1951 to 1994.  Grand Duchess Kira was the sister of Grand Duke Wladimir and the aunt of Grand Duchess Maria Wladimirovna.
