Informational Announcement concerning the Imperial visit to Russia of the Head of the Russian Imperial House, H.I.H. Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna and H.I.H. Dowager Grand Duchess Leonida Georgievna.

Between 25 September and 1 October, 2002, the Head of the Russian Imperial House, H.I.H. Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna, and H.I.H. Dowager Grand Duchess Leonida Georgievna made an Imperial visit to Russia. Their Imperial Highnesses came to the Motherland at the invitation of V. N. Maslov, the Head of the Administration of the Smolensk District, V. I. Anisimov, the Chairman of the Smolensk Regional Council (Duma), and His Eminence Metropolitan Kirill of Smolensk and Kaliningrad, on the occasion of the consecration of the Cathedral of the Icon of Our Lady “the Hope of Sinners” on Solovjev Crossing, and of the military cemetery on its grounds; and on the 400th anniversary of the construction of city walls of Smolensk.
