The Head of the House of Romanoff Recognizes the Service of Stanislaw V. Dumin, a noted Russian Historian and Genealogist and the Master of Heraldry in H.I.H.’s Chancellery, on his Sixtieth Birthday

From the Head of the Russian Imperial House

To Stanislaw V. Dumin, Master of Heraldry in Our Chancellery

Dear Stanislaw Vladimirovich,

I warmly congratulate you on the occasion of your 60th birthday!

Over the course of many years, you have faithfully and diligently assisted Our House in fulfilling the duty that has been given to It by God. Your scholarly and public activities are highly regarded by the Russian and international academic communities. Your work on the Presidential Council on Heraldry has made a significant contribution to the reestablishment of the historical traditions of the nation. The Historical and Genealogical Society in Moscow, which you refounded and currently lead, works collaboratively not only with other similar institutions in Russia and abroad, but also with the Russian Orthodox Church, with Russia’s Armed Forces, and with various charitable and community organizations. It also has provided help and support to people seeking to preserve and pass on to the next generation the histories of their own families.

By you energetic work and leadership as Our Master of Heraldry and Chairman of the Knights’ Council of the Imperial Order of St. Anna, you have for many years done much to make Our many initiatives, created both by my Imperial ancestors and by me, have a new life in today’s circumstances and to serve more effectively to strengthen the moral spirit of Russia’s leading sons and daughters.

Your service have garnered you many rewards. And now, I am pleased to mark the occasion of your birthday by investing you as a knight of the Imperial Order of St. Vladimir, Second Degree. But I have no doubt that your devotion to Our cause does not depend on external honors and awards, and that, above all else, you may count on Our continuing trust and confidence in you.

I wish you health, many years, and God’s help in all your many important endeavors.

Assuring you of Our continuing favor,
