2011-09-27 HIH Greetings re 100th Anniv of Livadia Palace

Greetings From the Head of the House of Romanoff On the Occasion of the 100-th Anniversary Celebrations of the Livadia Palace From the Head of the Russian Imperial House

To S. I. Moskalenko,

Director of the “Livadia Palace Museum” of the Republic of Crimea

Dear Svetlana Ivanovna,

I send my heartfelt congratulations to you and to all the staff of the Livadia Palace Museum on its 100-th anniversary.

The Livadia Palace is a unique example of a palace-grounds ensemble, preserving the memory of the Holy Royal Passion-Bearers, who especially loved this place and who left behind here a part of their spirit. Also associated with this palace are so many dramatic events in the post-revolutionary period, events which have left their mark on world history.

Many historical monuments are not, unfortunately, as well preserved in their original form as this one is. It is so gratifying to know that the Livadia Palace has survived the turbulent upheavals of the twentieth century. Without any doubt, the credit for the successful preservation of the palace goes in large part to the current museum staff.

My son and Heir, Grand Duke Georgii Mikhailovich, joins me in sending you these greetings and in expressing to you our sincere appreciation for all your efforts.

May the Lord keep and bless you all!
