2021-09-05 The Tsesarevich and Grand Duke George of Russia and his fiancée, Victoria Romanovna Bettarini, attend the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Hieromartyr Clement, Pope of Rome in Moscow

On September 5, 2021, on the leave-taking (Apodosis) of the Feast of the Dormition of the Most Pure Mother of God, the Heir of the Head of the Russian Imperial House, H.I.H. The Tsesarevich and Grand Duke George of Russia, and his fiancée, Victoria Romanovna Bettarini, attended the Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Hieromartyr Clement, Pope of Rome, in Moscow, both taking Holy Communion.

 

After the service, and at the direction of the Head of the Russian Imperial House, H.I.H. The Grand Duchess Maria of Russia, Grand Duke George awarded the rector of the church, Archpriest Leonid Kalinin, the insignia of the Imperial Order of St. Anna II Class, to which he had been appointed for his services to the Russian Orthodox Church and the Russian Imperial House. In addition, the insignia of the Imperial Order of St. Anna III Class was award to Archpriest Mikhail Sotnikov, who also serves at the Church of St. Clement. A patent of personal nobility was also awarded to D. L. Vinogradov, MD, an Associate Professor (docent) at the I. M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University. Attending the investiture ceremony were S. V. Dumin, the King of Arms and Head of the Office of Heraldry in the Chancellery of the Imperial House, and Hieromonk Nikon (Levachev-Belavenets), the Head of the Office of Historical and Memorial Activities in the Chancellery.
